Eastern Highland Healthy Cake House (Rocher Centre)

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!
YES, TIME OF THE YEAR to enjoy my favourite Blue-berry cake from my favourite shop again.
They changed to a beautiful sweet box and haha, the cake is same design as last year except the halved strawberries faced up. :P
And this year the sweetness is perfect (used to think it's nice but could be abit less sweet in past years) and the lump of fresh cream below the strawberries which I usually don't fancy tasted so fresh & smooth! An improvement from already nice thumbs-up for eggless Birthday cakes.
Yes, it remains my favourite Vegetarian Eggless cake shop. :-)

The cake shop is located at 1 Rocher Rd, #01-510 Rocher Centre (Opposite Bugis OG) Tel: 6294 6932
It has moved to be neighbors with Kwan Inn Vegetarian Food, at Blk 134, Geylang East Ave1, #01-227, S'pore 381034.

Kwan Inn Vegetarian Food 观音斋

Where to get nice Vegetarian herbal/tonic double-boiled soup?
One recommendation is Kwan Inn Vegetarian Food 观音斋 :-)
Yes, not just its laksa, the soup is recommendable too at economical price of $3.50.
List includes ABC soup, old cucumber soup, Six Senses Soup and Wild Ginseng Soup, etc.
Tried its Six Senses/Tastes Soup which the medical effect is said to enhance circulation of Qi.
It has a mild bitter herbal taste but reasonable portion of herbal ingredients, value for money.
:-)

It is located at corner coffee shop at Blk134 Geylang East Ave1, 2nd bus stop from Aljunied Mrt. Opposite Tan Swie Hian Museum.

7 Sensations

It's a long while since last visit to 7 Sensations, and this time I remembered to leave some stomach space for their yummy eggless cake.:-)
Before that, greatly recommend their Hot Soba, surprisingly smooth organic soba with a simple dark-sauced soup warms the hungry stomach. Unlike usual coarse texture of soba sampled, theirs tasted much like smooth vermicelli (mee sua). Will return to try their other noodles dishes. :-)

Eggless Chocolate Raspberry cake, rich but not sinful.

Nice place with good ambience and service with conscientious staff always refilling water. Also a recommended place for gathering, and would be a great place for high-tea if they are open from 3-6pm. :P

The restaurant is located at 16 Madras street, (just along a stretch of shop houses behind the Verge which hosts VegeSenz) They moved to level 3 Parco Millenium Walk

Opens daily: 11am-3pm, 6pm-10pm ; PH: 11am-5pm

Su Yuan Vegetarian

Learning from previous experience that we need to have a hearty meal before embarking on the Alexandra Arch Forest Walk, we had our breakfast at the nearby Telok Blangah Way Market Food Centre.

I am glad to find 2 Vegetarian stalls in the food centre. One is more the traditional standard meehoon/noodles stall and another has the Ala Carte dishes of Vegetarian Fish Soup, etc. Somehow, attracted that day to try the Su Yuan Vegetarian stall manned by an elderly man who looked very serious in serving the standard meehoon/noodles and which had a queue forming.
Well, the meehoon with the saltish gravy earned demerit points but the accompanying generous variety of ingredients of cabbage, french beans, black fungus, mock barbacue pork, compressed beancurb skin slices and crispy fried goose pieces at $2.50 made it worth a try. (but recommend to not ask for too much gravy) And yes, I would recommend their cripsy fried spring rolls! :-)

Located at Telok Blangah Way Blk 11 Market Food Centre, near road Diagonally Opposite Telok Blangah Hill Park entrance, towards Bt Merah central direction, opposite Safra Clubhouse.

House of Vegetarian

House of Vegetarian is the Asian Vegetarian stall at Clifford Centre's Basement Banquet Food Court located near to the escalator. So sad to find out Taste of Natural located at corner had ceased operation.
Wanting to try something soupy, I accepted the friendly cook's recommendation of Mee Hoon Mee Soup. Its mee/noodles turned up to be the flat thick yellow mee usually used in Lor Mee which its texture added flavour to the soup without much seasoning required. Nice, warm bowl of mee hoon and noodles with good portion of bean sprouts, mushrooms, carrot & vegetables. :-)

Classic Lao Di Fang Vegetarian Restaurant PL

Yes, returned to Classic Lao Di Fang again but this time for dinner (no buffet:P).

This round, Strongly recommend their Herbal Mushroom Soup, which had a nice herbal fragrance, with plenty of variety of mushrooms and wolf berries to warm the stomach.

Next was their Mango Pork Chop served on a hot-plate. The mango sauce was mild & I would think the hot-plate was more for presentation purpose without much of sizzling effect but I love their well-coated bread-crumb fried pork chop. Nicely fried bread-crumb skin and my friend complimented that the mock pork tasted like ham. The accompanying vegetables of broccoli, asparagus, bell peppers made it a beautiful & nutritious dish.

It is located at 9 Penang Rd, Park Mall, Basement 1, #B1-12, just turn left from the down escalator.
